Beyond books, conferences and mentors, God plays the key role in developing a God-honoring leader which is often overlooked. John Hawkins and Laura Hoover discuss that In the busyness of life, it is important to remember that there is a God at work, using the circumstances, challenges and opportunities to develop us into God-honoring leaders. We must do the things that are in front of us to do. We must do them in faith asking God to give us the grace to do them and to do them well. But we should remain aware that God is behind the scenes using my context, my opportunities and the breadth of my influence in ways that only He can to establish and transform me into the man (or woman) leader that He wants me to be. Our normal way of thinking is what do I need to do? And there are definitely things that we need to do. But we must remember that our sovereign God is behind it all, working in us and working through us. May we lift our eyes up to rejoice in and relax in the fact that there is a craftsman, a loving Father who is behind all this accomplishing His purposes.
